We offer wholesale solid shampoo bars that are made in the USA. Our solid shampoo are made with Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) a much gentler, a more whole food coconut version option that is SLS free. SLS and other surfactants that make solid shampoo bars foam, can often be made with petroleum byproducts. When surfactants are made with petroleum byproducts, there are chemical reactions that take place that produce elements that are allergens or irritants to many. Sodium Coco sulfate shampoo bars are made from the whole coconut oil, which is fully balanced and won't strip your hair. Our solid shampoo bars have long, full, fatty acid chains, these longer chains make larger particles, which are too large to enter your skin pores, this fact is what makes Sodium Coco sulfate shampoo bars so gentle. People who typically have negative reactions to many shampoos, have joyfully told us that our shampoo bars don'r cause them irritation.
SLS shampoo bars have incomplete fatty acid chains and are more alkaline, this allows it to strip oils and its primary use is for degreasers such as floor cleaners. Stripping oils from your hair and scalp makes the shampoo harsh and drying. You need an optimal balance of fats from natural oils in your shampoo so you don't end up with a deficit that causes your hair to dry and your scalp to itch. This is why we chose Sodium Coco Sulfate over SLS for shampoo. On the other side of the spectrum, you will see Sodium Cocyl Isethionate, this version is very gentle, but detrimentally so. Commonly referred to as SCS shampoo bars abbreviated. These bars don't adequately remove dirty oils, over time this accumulation will harbor fungus and bacteria, effecting hair growth and overall scalp health. SCI bars are best for babies, who have a higher skin turnover rate and also need something very gentle for their delicate skin. SCI bars are also great for ethnic hair, commonly braided and needs to be cleaned but wanting to maintain natural oils, their hairs natural oils are superior, they don't want to wash them off, the oils are difficult to replicate. SCI is also used when people dye their hair red. Red hair dye is very susceptible to fading and needs protection from sun and minimal washing to maintain vibrancy. We have found that our SCS solid shampoo bars are great for most everyone. When packaging is necessary there are a few simple options that we can assist you in locating, such as paper bags or compostable cellulose fiber, clear bags, fully compostable. The solid conditioner bar may not feel like the typical creamy lotion consistency that you are accustomed to but you will be pleasently surprised that after applying the bar, running it though your hair starnds, when you go to rinse, you will notice that what it has imparted is more than a liquid conditioner when its all done. Our conditioner bars use natural oils from Rapeseed oil, they are ionically charged to attract to your hair, with a PH level that closes the hair cuticles, giving you shine, strength and maintaining moisture. Open hair cuticles leave hair open and prone to damage and unable to keep moisture in. Some people use an apple cider vinegar rinse for clarity and also the very low ph seals the hair as tight as it can go, for the most shine, to be used sparingly, often once a week.
Given that the shampoo bars are condensed and don't have water, it has allowed them to not need any preservatives. Preservatives are usually a necessary evil, not ideal for you and your skins natural flora but saves you from something far worse caused by spoilage and mold, with the shampoo bars its just not necessary, the bars dry between use and don't spoil, like a regular bar of soap which also doesn't have any preservatives. Some shampoo and conditioner bars use various ingredients that are food sources for mold, our bars don't have any food source and we have never heard of mold bars, our culture tests have confirmed. It is best to keep the bars "high and dry" though, sitting in standing water will make the bars softer, like bar soap and slough off prematurely. Also good for the same reason to keep the bar out of constant dripping or running water as this will also wear the bars down faster. When kept dry, the bars have an extremely long shelf life and are a great value. Encouraging others on storage conditions is critical for user satisfaction.
